Stacia Marie Jones
Columbus Office
Ms. Jones is an associate in the Vorys Columbus office where she is a member of the labor and employment group. She has extensive experience defending employers on race, sex, age, religious, and disability discrimination claims, as well as claims involving sexual harassment, the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and wrongful discharge. She represents employers before federal, state, and local administrative agencies, and federal and state courts throughout the country. Ms. Jones represents management in contract interpretation and discharge and discipline arbitration. She regularly advises employers on a wide variety of labor and employment matters, including the development of personnel policies and practices, employee handbooks, employee discipline and termination, internal complaints and investigations, and compliance with employment-related statutes and regulations. Ms. Jones also trains human resources professionals on these matters.
Ms. Jones received her J.D. with honors from The Ohio State University College of Law where she was a member and Articles and Symposium Editor of the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution. She also received a Certificate in Dispute Resolution. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from The Ohio State University.
Ms. Jones has spoken on topics of the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), investigations, and terminations.
