Barbara Bison Jacobson

Ms. Bison Jacobson is of counsel in the Vorys Cincinnati office and a member of the litigation practice group. She is a trial attorney with expertise in copyright, trade secret and trademark issues, and significant experience in plaintiff's personal injury trial practice. Using her experience as plaintiff's counsel, she has represented clients in lawsuits to stop infringers from copying client's original creations, such as advertisements. Ms. Bison Jacobson has trial experience in federal and state courts in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Career highlights include:
- Filing and settling a copyright infringement lawsuit to prohibit the unlawful reproduction of a client's original art work
- Jury trial experience in numerous cases
Ms. Bison Jacobson is a member of the American Bar Association, the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Ohio Women’s Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association.
Ms. Bison Jacobson has been selected to speak at trial practice seminars for many years. Additionally, she has spoken to trade groups, such as advertising and marketing companies, regarding copyright protection for their original creations and using the risk of a substantial verdict and the possibility of court-ordered reimbursement of attorney fees to persuade an infringer to settle favorably.
Ms. Bison Jacobson received her J.D. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University and was a member of the Order of the Coif. She received her B.A. from Miami University.
