Elizabeth T. Farrar

Columbus Office

Ms. Farrar is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office where her practice focuses on general corporate law, federal securities law and mergers and acquisitions.  Ms. Farrar works with clients in their compliance with the regulatory framework provided by the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, the American Stock Exchange and The NASDAQ Stock Market.  She has also represented clients in a variety of mergers and acquisitions involving both stock and assets and regularly works with clients in developing corporate governance policies and practices. 

Career highlights include:

  • Counseling numerous Ohio-based public companies regarding their federal securities law obligations and corporate governance policies and practices
  • Assisting a large manufacturing company acquire several businesses during a five-year period
  • Representing several bank holding companies in their respective acquisitions of other banks and bank holding companies through mergers, acquisitions of stock and acquisitions of branch locations

Ms. Farrar is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association.

Ms. Farrar has spoken on corporate governance and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 as well as the new executive compensation rules promulgated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Ms. Farrar received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. magna cum laude from Smith College where she was Phi Beta Kappa.
