John C. Vorys
Columbus Office
Mr. Vorys is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and is the Administrative Partner of the firm’s corporate and finance practice group. He specializes in general corporate law, securities regulation law, and community bank law and regulations. Mr. Vorys has represented corporations and financial institutions involved in initial and secondary public offerings, mergers, and acquisitions and divestitures. He also serves as counsel to numerous corporations and financial institutions and their holding companies.
Career highlights include:
- Representing the founder of an airline in the formation and initial capitalization of the airline and currently representing the airline in various current operational matters
- Serving as the lead lawyer in the formation and capitalization of 14 financial institutions
- Serving as lead lawyer in the initial public offerings of 12 financial institutions and over 35 financial institution mergers
Mr. Vorys is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association.
Mr. Vorys has spoken on various corporate law topics at Ohio State Bar Association sponsored seminars and at financial institution conventions. He has lectured at Director Training seminars on the fiduciary duties of the members of boards of directors.
Mr. Vorys received his J.D. magna cum laude from Capital University Law School and was a member of the Order of the Curia. He received his B.A. cum laude from Williams College.
