Laura G. Kuykendall
Columbus Office
Ms. Kuykendall is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the litigation practice group. She represents clients in complex business litigation, including antitrust, trade regulation, insurance coverage, class actions, contract disputes, securities litigation, trade secrets and corporate takeovers.
Career highlights include:
- Defending a pharmaceutical manufacturer in multiple antitrust lawsuits nationally relating to pharmaceutical pricing, including a multi-district case in federal court
- Successfully representing at trial a health insurer challenging on antitrust grounds the territorial restrictions of a national trade association and successfully opposing the association's attempt to have the case heard by the United States Supreme Court
- Representing a multi-national telecommunications company in the takeover of a large corporation which involved antitrust and federal issues with a successful outcome after trial in federal court on ERISA issues
Ms. Kuykendall is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association and a Fellow of the Columbus Bar Foundation.
Ms. Kuykendall regularly speaks to various bar and professional associations, including the Columbus, Cleveland and Ohio State Bar Associations on a wide variety of topics including evidence, direct and cross examination skills, deposition skills, trial advocacy courtroom techniques, antitrust law, voir dire and opening statements. She has been a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, teaching deposition skills, since 1993.
Ms. Kuykendall received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law where she was a member of the Raven Society. She received her B.A. with highest distinction from the University of Virginia where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
