Sheila Nolan Gartland

Columbus Office

Ms. Gartland is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the commercial and real estate practice group.  She focuses primarily on real estate development and real property issues, representing clients in the acquisition, sale, development, annexation, zoning, leasing, and disposition of real property.  Ms. Gartland assists clients with federally insured commercial mortgage lending and other commercial loan matters and advises landlords and tenants with respect to retail and other commercial leases.

Career highlights include:

  • Representing developers in real estate development projects, including residential subdivisions, golf course developments, and mixed use developments
  • Representing borrowers in the refinancings of multi-million dollar projects

Ms. Gartland is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. 

Ms. Gartland received her J.D. from The University of Toledo College of Law and her B.A. cum laude from the University of Dayton.

Ms. Gartland has spoken at seminars on a variety of real estate topics, including annexation under Ohio law, zoning and land use matters, commercial real estate purchase agreements, and drafting and reviewing real estate documents.  She has also appeared frequently on “Legal Eagles” on WCMH TV, Channel 4, the NBC affiliate in Columbus Ohio.

Ms. Gartland  has authored articles on annexation procedures for the Ohio State Bar Association which have appeared in a number of local newspapers throughout the State of Ohio.
